Why a tier list beats a plain top 10

Taylor Swift has released hundreds of songs across eleven studio eras. Trying to freeform-rank them from memory is impossible — you forget deep cuts, over-index on singles, and end up with a list that doesn't feel like yours. A tier list fixes that by forcing one small decision at a time.

Perched turns the tier list into a real ranking. You tag songs Love / Like / Meh / Pass album by album, then the head-to-head sorter uses only your Loves to build a definitive personal top 10.

The four-tier system

Love — a forever song. You would put it on any Taylor playlist you ever make.
Like — you enjoy it, but it's not a desert-island pick.
Meh — you skip it about half the time.
Pass — not for you.

Only Loves feed the sorter, so be honest. A Taylor tier list with forty Loves and one Pass produces a mushy top 10; twelve real Loves per era produces a top 10 that actually reflects your taste.

How to rank every Taylor Swift album

Work chronologically — it's the easiest way to keep vault tracks, re-recordings, and deluxe editions straight:

  1. Taylor Swift (Debut, 2006)
  2. Fearless (Taylor's Version)
  3. Speak Now (Taylor's Version)
  4. Red (Taylor's Version) — including All Too Well (10 Minute Version)
  5. 1989 (Taylor's Version)
  6. Reputation
  7. Lover
  8. folklore
  9. evermore
  10. Midnights (3am Edition + The Til Dawn Edition)
  11. The Tortured Poets Department (The Anthology)

Tag one album per sitting. Perched saves your progress in your browser, so you can walk away mid-Reputation and pick it up later.

The head-to-head sorter, explained

Once every album is finalized, hit Generate Top 10. Perched pulls the top five Love-tier tracks from each finalized album into a merge pool, then runs a series of two-song head-to-heads. You pick which of two songs you'd keep. The sorter uses the minimum number of comparisons to produce a fully ordered top 10 — usually 20 to 40 taps for a full Taylor discography.

Building your Eras Tour tier list

If you're going to (or replaying) the Eras Tour, use your top 10 as the surprise-song wishlist. Most Swifties end up with a list that spans at least six eras — a good signal your tier list is honest and not just recency-biased toward TTPD or Midnights.

Regenerating is free. Every time a new album drops or you change how you feel about Lover, just re-tag that shelf and hit Regenerate — your top 10 updates without wiping your history.

When your top 10 is ready, Perched builds a shareable image sized for Instagram Stories and TikTok. Sign in first so the ranking saves to your account — otherwise you'll lose it if you clear your browser.
